A Very Warm Welcome to The Comfort Hotel Great Yarmouth
Dear Guest,
We do hope you enjoy your stay with ourselves. We are writing to you today with a message that feels unreal; in a world that has unimaginably changed in such a short space of time, and continues to change at such a rapid pace.
In light of the recent world events we find ourselves with unprecedented challenges, however we have been able to put procedures in place to therefore allow us to open to all of our guests, and still remain safe.
Please wear your masks when in the public areas of the hotel unless you are eating and or drinking. If you are exempt from wearing a mask please make sure you wear your lanyard to avoid any embarrassing questions. We will also request that we can take your temperature on arrival.
Here at the Comfort the health and well being of our guests is always our first responsibility. We are incredibly grateful for your on going support as so many of you have been visiting us for many years.
We are taking our responsibilities to respond to Coronavirus really seriously, so would therefore like to tell you the procedures in place.


Upon checking-in please can you ensure that you do not lean over the counter and use the hand sanitizer which is readily available. We can assure you that all of our Room Keys are sanitized after every use, along with the PDQ Card Machine. All of us here at the Comfort are continuously cleaning the reception and lobby areas with proven products which kill the Coronavirus.


Up until the 4th July 2020 our bar has been closed, with guests only allowed in one at a time. We are pleased to be reopening our bar, on the condition that everyone is to follow the 1m rule. All drinks will be served by table service, please do not stand at the bar. As of 24th September our bar will close at 10pm. If you would like drinks served to your room please ask a member of staff.


We are proud of having our very own famous ‘The Grill Restaurant’ open. Bookings must be taken for your reservation to minimize the amount of people in the restaurant at any one time.
Once again, we must ensure that all social distancing is adhered to. We have distanced the tables; the tables will be sanitized after every use and the cutlery and condiments will only be brought once an order has been placed.
Orders will be taken at the table and brought out to you. Alternatively, if you prefer to eat in your room, we are waving the room charge fee. It will be a case of the staff knocking on your door, popping the tray on the floor, and waiting until you open the door. This then helps with us minimizing the contact between us all.
You are more than welcome to eat outside in the garden should you wish to.

Rooms & Toilets

All of our bedding in the hotel is laundered to very strict standards ensuring it kills off the Corona Virus. We are also using proven products in our rooms which ensures our cleanliness is on point. We are doing regular intensive clean downs of all our service areas.
Our toilets are cleaned regularly with our anti bac which is readily available. The staff are all ensuring toilet checks are done regularly and then signed off. We also have antibacterial soap in both the ladies and gents’ toilets.


Our breakfast was buffet service but has now changed to table service. Our waiting staff will come to your table to take your order. Please be aware that all of our condiments which are usually in bowls, will now be in disposable packets. This then helps us to reduce the risk of cross contamination
Please may we ask that no group gatherings happen of more than your family bubble of 6 people, this is to ensure the welfare of our guests and ourselves. Our main priority is making sure we are all safe.

What to do if you think you have contracted Covid-19

If you believe you have contracted Covid19 you should inform a member of staff immediately, and self-isolate for 7 days where you are able to minimize any risk of transmission and request a test. If you have been close to the infected individual, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days. If the Guest is well enough, they may return home immediately. The appropriate authorities can then be informed and you will be able to go for a test at the time and date given to you. Directions to the testing point are available.
We are doing our utmost best to provide you with a very safe and healthy stay at The Comfort Hotel Great Yarmouth amongst your family and loved ones but please remember we are new to this too! Enjoy your stay ????
